Lead Merchant Product Sales Consultant, Healthcare Banking

About the position

Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Merchant Product Sales Consultant to drive Merchant Services growth within the Healthcare Banking segment. This strategic, client-facing sales role is responsible for expanding relationships with healthcare organizations by delivering innovative payment acceptance, treasury, and receivables solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance patient payment experiences, and support business growth. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to healthcare clients and banking partners, leveraging deep merchant acquiring and payments expertise to identify opportunities, develop tailored solutions, and drive new business growth. This individual will partner closely with Treasury Management Sales Consultants, Relationship Managers, Product, and Implementation teams to execute complex sales strategies and deliver exceptional client outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to grow Merchant Services revenue across healthcare clients, including hospitals, health systems, physician groups, ambulatory care organizations, and healthcare service providers.
  • Serve as the Merchant Services subject matter expert for Healthcare Banking, partnering with Treasury Management and Relationship Managers to identify opportunities and deliver integrated payment solutions.
  • Lead the full consultative sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, solution design, proposal development, negotiation, and implementation.
  • Deliver tailored payment solutions including merchant acquiring, digital payments, patient payment automation, receivables optimization, gateway services, and fraud mitigation capabilities.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders within healthcare organizations.
  • Drive new client acquisition, portfolio growth, and revenue generation while achieving annual sales and pipeline objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product, Operations, Risk, Implementation, and Service teams to ensure successful client onboarding and long-term relationship success.
  • Identify market trends, competitive opportunities, and industry developments that strengthen Wells Fargo's position within the healthcare payments ecosystem.
  • Influence strategic initiatives and contribute to product enhancements by sharing client insights and market intelligence.
  • Mentor peers and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing sales culture.
  • Lead complex initiatives including those that are cross-functional with broad impact for Business to Business (B2B) Sales projects and teams.
  • Function as key participant in large-scale planning for Business to Business (B2B) Sales functional area.
  • Review and analyze complex, multi-faceted, large-scale, and long-term business, operational, or technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangible or unprecedented factors.
  • Make decisions in complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of Business to Business (B2B) Sales functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that influence and lead a broader work team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives.
  • Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and middle to more experienced level managers to resolve issues and achieve goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Business to Business (B2B) Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Nice-to-haves

  • Merchant Services, payments, treasury management, or receivables sales experience.
  • Healthcare industry expertise, including experience working with hospitals, health systems, physician groups, or healthcare-focused organizations.
  • Demonstrated success developing new business and managing complex sales opportunities with large commercial and corporate clients.
  • Strong consultative selling, business development, and relationship management skills.
  • Experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders and leading strategic client discussions.
  • Deep understanding of payment ecosystems, revenue cycle management, patient payments, and healthcare payment trends.
