Job Description:

  • Build client relationships and help clients make confident, informed financial decisions
  • Understand clients' financial goals, identify potential tax savings, plan for the future, and inform clients about relevant H&R Block products and services
  • Establish rapport and trust through empathy, active listening, and commitment to clients' financial well-being
  • Conduct tax interviews for retail and DIY online clients using video, phone, chat, and email
  • Review and complete accurate individual and small-business tax returns in compliance with IRS regulations and H&R Block standards
  • Analyze IRS transcripts to identify missed prior-year filings and amendment opportunities
  • Provide ethical and credible tax advice
  • Handle sensitive information confidentially and with integrity
  • Stay current with tax laws, tools, and technology through ongoing training
  • Use H&R Block digital tools and platforms to streamline tax preparation and improve client experience
  • Share knowledge, support peers, and collaborate with staff to enhance client experience and achieve office goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Three years of tax preparation or review experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and practical experience considered
  • Experience with IRS transcripts, amendments, and identifying prior-year returns
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong virtual collaboration and digital-platform communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of tax law and personal tax concepts
  • Analytical skills for routine and complex tax situations
  • Ability to work effectively in a diverse, collaborative team environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Internet speed of at least 15 Mbps
  • Enrolled Agent, Attorney, or CPA designation preferred
  • Master's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
